Telegram has now become the most downloaded app on Google Play Store in the world

Telegram became the most installed non-gaming app in the world in January 2021. According to the latest stats from Sensor Tower on the world’s most popular mobile applications at the end of January 2021, Telegram was downloaded 63 million times last month, with 24% of new telegram users from Indonesia. It has been downloaded and 10% is installed from Indonesia.

The rapid increase in downloads may be due to a controversy over WhatsApp’s privacy policy that has caused user anger and encouraged many to switch to Telegram. TikTok came in second, followed by Signal and Facebook, but WhatsApp moves smoothly from third to fifth in early January.

TikTok is the second closest with 62 million downloads, with China accounting for 17% of downloads, followed by the United States with 10%. TikTok is still restricted in India after the government blocked some Chinese apps last year.

According to Sensor Tower, TikTok was the most installed app in December 2020, and Telegram isn’t on the top five list. Due to the privacy policy controversy surrounding WhatsApp, users switched to Telegram in January, and WhatsApp moved from 3rd place in December 2020 to 5th place in January 2021. Meanwhile, Signal and Facebook were third and fourth, respectively.

According to the report, Instagram was ranked 6th in the list of non-gaming apps downloaded in January 2021, followed by Zoom, MX Taka Tak, Snapchat and Messenger. According to Sensor Tower, the quote includes downloads from both the App Store and Google Play Store worldwide from January 1, 2021 to January 31, 2021.
